I just watched an OS episode where they install an advanced computer (the M5) that can essentially run the entire ship. It does well on the simple missions before going on a rampage! Because the designer was crazy and imprinted his consciousness on it (?). Maybe it's not the computers that can't be trusted. It's the Joshes programmers.
