This is a the search function. With it, you can perform searches. For example:
  • Search for a particular user's post: user:somebody
  • Search for the same user, but only times they said "cheese": user:somebody, cheese
  • Search for the same user, but only in the item "idkfa": user:somebody, item:idkfa
  • Search for anywhere people mention "cheese": cheese
  • Find all mention of cheese in "idkfa" for a set of users: item:idkfa, user:somebody, user:nobody, cheese
  • Only the "roots" of threads, not the replies: is:root
  • Find comments mentioning both cheese and crackers in the last five days: last:5d,cheese,crackers
  • Find comments mentioning either cheese or crackers: cheese+crackers
  • The item, user, and last prefixes can be negated, for example, posts older than 5 days, not in "idkfa": -last:5d,-item:idkfa
  • All posts in direct reply to your comments, excluding when you replied to yourself: inreplyto:me,-user:me
  • All posts in reply to threads that you've started (but not necessarily in reply to you): threadreplyto:me,-user:me
  • If you're logged in, posts that you've read, or not read: is:read, or is:unread. If you're not logged in, these are ignored.
If you're just looking for something to read, try this.

So I was trying to put a picture in a post but it just wouldn't do it, I was sad. I have a .jpg file saved on my computer but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to put it in the

Try this: Upload your picture to http://imgur.com. They'll give you a link (the first one) to embed it into another page. Copy that link. Mosey over to idkfa, and click the

didn't use imgur, but did try it with picasa and got nothing using the link. Sad

Picasa has some security stuff on their images to make sure people off-site don't try to harvest their images. Imgur has no such restriction. I recommend using them for one-off kinda stuff. I

I use Photobucket, primarily because of the vernacular - denoting slop and rubbish...the contents of which are mostly throw away 'shopped images for forum linking. Also because that was an

I have been tempted to upload some pictures to idkfa through Picassa, but I'm just so paranoid about having an album on there that is "public." I don't like the idea of my

They've got access control options on there, pretty sure.

MrFood in idkfa, about +14Y ago:
Hmm. Guess i don't worry about that, nor do I understand why I could be. I only have 1 public album which is my rainier climb, and to some degree that's totally cool if someone searches

kaiden in idkfa, about +14Y ago:
Or "Anyone with the link." If you set it like that, people can't publicly search for the images, and can only arrive at the image if you use a link (with a significantly difficult

I definitely agree with you that you don't have anything to hide by making your climbing pictures public. Those would be just fine if someone searched them. For me, it's kinda a

hmm. That's a good point. Maybe I'll play around with Picassa a bit more and see if I can set it up how I want it.

MrFood in idkfa, about +14Y ago:
No that's totally fine. You at least have a pretty good reason, not just random unjustified paranoia.

All I want to do is share pictures of my massive hamburgers with the world. Is that really too much to ask?

MrFood in idkfa, about +14Y ago:
I actually just used this function last weekend to share pictures I took with doing Oktoberfesty things. Brad really loves pictures so this was a way to not have everyone in the world look at them

So, what I've gathered from testing: If you have this "Anyone with a link" setting, Google with include an "authKey" value along with the links it generates to the

That's good to know. I'll keep this in mind next time I create a Picassa album. Maybe I should bookmark this page or something. :D
