- the artwork for this album (www.metalsucks.net) reminds me of Verdeloth the Ancient (www.abugames.com). Every. Time.
The character names and place names in the movie 47 Ronin are largely based on the 47 Ronin legend (including "delicious"), except Keanu Reeves's part. Keanu's part, the demons, and the witchcraft are entirely fabricated.
I didn't mention it yesterday but I was pretty sure the legend was referenced in the totally sweet Robert De Niro movie Ronin. Yep.
Further context: First European contact with Japan was likely around 1540

Shows that Keanu's character of a "half-breed" is at least historically possible, given the 47 Ronin legend occured ~160 years after first contact.
To give some perspective, we are currently living in a period ~160 years after first meaningful, significant Yup'ik-European contact, since the silty river deltas of the Yukon and Kuskokwim were avoided by European sailors for a long time due to their difficulty of navigation.
But you have to remember: computers can't be trusted! I just watched an OS episode where they install an advanced computer (the M5) that can essentially run the entire ship. It does well on the simple missions before going on a rampage! Because the designer was crazy and imprinted his consciousness on it (?).
Maybe it's not the computers that can't be trusted. It's the Joshes programmers.
