Even though I live 2 blocks from a metro station here, I still would prefer to use my car any day of the week if it is a logical option. It is just SO much more convenient to not have to work around the metro systems schedule, deal with late trains, deal with transfers to other lines, deal with having to carry everything I want to have with me on my shoulders.... etc etc etc... It is just SO much more convenient to have my car! (if only parking wasn't so expensive and biking so dangerous in the city...) But with that said, I accept the fact that most of the reason I feel that way is because of how I grew up. I have a lot of friends here who have absolutely no desire whatsoever to own a car. The hassle of having on is not worth the freedom it gives them to go places away from the metro.
