I actively squashed the idea of my class doing a ten year reunion. Mostly because awkwardly standing around a restaurant with a maximum of twenty one people (plus SOs and children) never sounds like a good idea, no matter how you spin it. Also, I pretty much despised every single person in my graduating class and have thanked the gods daily since my departure that I achieved escape velocity. (Anyone who remembers my high school fondly was either delusional or a drug-addled twat.)

The motives for reunions always seem out of place to me. If there are people from your class whose lives you want to be involved in, will a class reunion really change your interactions with them? Will it really help you rekindle some long-forgotten relationship (platonic or otherwise)?

Ultimately, high school reunions seem to me to be about dick measuring. He has a BMW! She has six kids! Or, perhaps, smugly proclaiming "well at least I didn't fuck up my life after I graduated from high school." (That, aside, would likely be my reaction to most things experienced at a reunion. But, again, I can read, which is a rarity among rural Oklahomans.)

Regardless, it is a rare opportunity, and if you think it's something you'd enjoy doing, the price of admission is, relatively speaking, pretty low (assuming you already plan to be in ANC). Law of Anecdotes, right?
