Distant Satellites follows directly in the footsteps of every album Anathema has released since We’re Here Because We’re Here. In fact, it’s almost become formula to have multipart songs separated over the album, with a long time track occupying the penultimate or thereabouts slot on the album. If the music wasn’t so good, and full of emotion, it’d probably become tedious… but man, Anathema has a knack for creating the most evocative soul-searching music ever. And with this album, they’ve really perfected that formula.
4.0/5 – Great album. They’re going to have to head in some other direction for the next album, as I feel the formula they’ve ridden for the past few will become tired pretty quickly from this point on.
